Month for Palu (2019)

The earthquake and tsunami that struck the Indonesian island of Sulawesi on Friday, September 28, 2018 has already been claimed as one of the deadliest earthquakes in the world for that year. Not only a magnitude of 7.4 quake struck their way, but it was followed by a 3-meter high tsunami that hit the city of Palu, Indonesia. With a population of 350,000, a great portion of them underwent such a devastating catastrophe. According to local authorities, there are more than 2,000 fatalities, 10,679 injured, and 82,775 people are evacuated with limited food and water supplies.

On behalf of PERMIAS Seattle, Indonesian Student Association University of Washington (ISAUW), Indonesian Student Association of North Seattle (ISANS), Indonesian Student Community (ISC) Shoreline, Bellevue Indonesian Club, and Indonesian Student Organization (ISO) Green River College, we opened up a donation of funds that went directly to Central Sulawesi through a local NGO in Indonesia. In total, we were able to raise a total of $3,375 as our condolences as we provide support & aid to all our brothers and sisters in Palu.
